Oscar and the Wolf is a spellbinding indie-electronic music project led by the exceptionally talented Belgian artist, Max Colombie. Known for his hauntingly beautiful melodies, ethereal vocals, and emotionally charged performances, Max Colombie has created a musical universe that captivates listeners and transports them into a realm of introspection and raw emotion.

From the very inception of the project, Oscar and the Wolf garnered attention for their distinct sound, seamlessly blending electronic beats with dreamy pop elements. Drawing inspiration from diverse musical influences, their tracks possess a unique allure that sets them apart in the contemporary music landscape.
Max’s mesmerizing voice serves as the focal point of Oscar and the Wolf’s music, effortlessly carrying the weight of emotion in each lyric. With a seamless mix of vulnerability and strength, his vocals have the power to tug at heartstrings and leave a profound impact on audiences.

In 2012, Oscar and the Wolf caught the attention of critics and listeners with their debut EP “Summer Skin.” However, their real breakthrough came with their debut album “Entity,” which blended disco anthems with laid-back improvisations, fashionable post-R&B sound with atmospheric electropop, creating a unique blend that seemed to exist “between luxury and melancholy,” much like a Russian band once sang. The band’s leader, Max Colombie, describes it as a “twilight zone, a combination of the Sun and the Moon, a balance between light and darkness, simultaneously beautiful and frightening.”

Their second album, “Infinity,” released in 2017, solidified Oscar and the Wolf’s success, making them popular. Their highly anticipated third studio album, “The Shimmer,” was released in 2021. The album cover portrays Max basking in starlight underwater, which seems to characterize its sound – the record was composed at home but recorded in one of Belgium’s finest studios, filled with analog equipment. Its intimacy and warmth embody the creative quintessence of Oscar and The Wolf. According to Colombie, this album represents the “best version of himself,” like a blockbuster soundtrack with a wide range of sounds and no club pop songs.

Beyond their studio recordings, Oscar and the Wolf’s live performances are true spectacles. Infusing their shows with a compelling visual and artistic aesthetic, each concert becomes an immersive experience that lingers in the memories of attendees long after the final notes fade away. The synergy between Max Colombie and his bandmates on stage creates an energy that is nothing short of electrifying.

Oscar and the Wolf’s music often delves into themes of love, loss, self-discovery, and the intricacies of human emotions. Through his introspective songwriting, Max brings to life stories that resonate with listeners on a profound level, making their music a source of solace and reflection for many.

As Oscar and the Wolf continue to evolve and push the boundaries of their artistry, their impact on the music industry remains undeniable. Their artistic vision, combined with Max Colombie’s enigmatic presence, has secured them a place among the most celebrated and influential contemporary music artists.

With an ever-growing catalogue of evocative melodies and a reputation for delivering captivating live performances, Oscar and the Wolf stands as a testament to the power of music to connect people across borders and cultures.
