Stereo MC’s Bring Connected 35th Anniversary Tour to Budapest
In 2027, UK electronic dance and hip-hop pioneers Stereo MC’s will embark on a
major European tour to celebrate the 35th anniversary of their seminal, multi-
platinum album, Connected. Budapest will also be part of the celebration: following
last year’s sold-out show, the band will take over Akvárium Klub on 21 May.
The group emerged from London’s underground scene in the late 1980s, creating their first
tracks in a south London flat using a four-track tape machine. Blending hip-hop, dub, lyric-
driven music, house, funk and electronic beats, they reshaped British club culture. Thirty-
five years after its release, Connected remains as infectious and powerful as ever,
reminding listeners why Stereo MC’s are considered one of the most iconic dance acts in
British music history.
Released by Island Records in November 1992, Connected became a global
phenomenon. It reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and earned the band two Brit
Awards. The album featured timeless, dancefloor-filling tracks such as “Connected”,
“Step It Up”, “Ground Level” and “Creation”.
Known for their explosive live performances, Stereo MC’s will bring their signature
rhythms back to Europe in 2027 with this anniversary tour. The core touring line-up
includes frontman, vocalist and producer Rob Birch, aka Rob B; DJ and producer Nick
Hallam; vocalist Cath Coffey; and drummer and percussionist Tansay Omar. This tour is
therefore more than a celebration of the past: it is a celebration of a timeless rhythm that
connects generations.
Registered Live Nation members will have first access to tickets for the Budapest show
from 10:00 am on 7 October. General on-sale begins at 10:00 am on 9 October via
