Coming to Hungary for the first time is ZillaKami and SosMula, a New York-based group whose dark and powerful music is hard to put down at first. They basically create in the genres of rap and hip-hop, but they make surprising use of different elements of metal and hardcore, which is why they are often referred to as the pioneers of trap-metal.

City Morgue’s 2017 music video SHINNERS13 practically shocked people, and after the single’s release, ZillaKami and SosMula kept their sudden popularity alive with a lot of gigs and high quality records, making City Morgue one of the most interesting and controversial acts in the rap and hardcore scene. They have played with rap superstars such as $uicideboy$ and Denzel Curry, but have also played with some of the hardcore scene’s leading artists, such as Turnstile and Trash Talk.

Their first album, CITY MORGUE VOL. 1: HELL OR HIGH WATER, was released in 2018 and immediately went to the top of the charts. With their second album, CITY MORGUE VOL. 2: AS GOOD AS DEAD, they also took the number one spot on the Billboard Top Rock Album Chart and the Apple Music Rock Album Chart.

The duo have achieved outstanding success in the underground rap scene, amassing hundreds of millions of streams and views over the past few years. In addition to building a virtual cult following and a huge fanbase, they have also garnered the attention of the industry, including accolades from Complex, Pitchfork, Mass Appeal, Stereogum and Revolver.

City Morgue’s music is also influenced by artists such as DMX, Alice in Chains, Onyx, Tyler, the Creator, Title Fight and Slipknot, whose Spit It Out was covered by the duo, and ZillaKami even has a Corey Taylor mask tattoo from the Iowa era on his forearm.

Their fourth and most recent album, My Bloody America, was released last September, and now they’ll finally be performing live at the Akvárium Klub on 9 July.
