Irish singer Bambie Thug’s extravagant music, which they calls ouija-pop, was the star of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Ireland, with Doomsday Blue bringing them the sixth place. Bambie Thug’s concerts are seance-like, spectacular performances, and we will soon be able to attend their first Budapest appearance on 19th September at the Akvárium Klub.

Cork-born alt disruptor Bambie Thug (they/them/fae) is smashing through gender and socio- political stereotypes to create an era-defining sound that borders on elements of pop, rock, electronic and more. Self-coining the term ‘Ouija-pop’ to describe their sound, Bambie Thug has made serious waves in the last couple years with a series of genre-defying singles and a critically acclaimed EP ‘CATHEXIS’. Bambie represented Ireland at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest with their spellbinding entry ‘Doomsday Blue’, finishing at 6th place – the highest placement for an Irish act in 24 years. The track is about the feeling of having your potential overlooked and an ode to the queer community. Sonically, the track transports listeners from alt-witchy verses to killer screams, pop choruses, a jazzy middle-eight, before culminating in a metallic roar of electronic and heavy guitars. It perfectly showcases the different facets of Bambie Thug as an artist. With a visual artistry equally as striking as their musical breath, their witchy aesthetic and strong cinematic videos have seen them transform into otherworldly characters such as ‘HIM’ from The Powerpuff Girls and a vampire bride. No stranger to the big stage, Bambie has torn up festival stages across the world including Download Festival, The Great Escape and Trans Musicales to much critical acclaim.

And soon they will be coming to the Akvárium Klub with their extravagant performance, we only have to wait until September 19th. Tickets for the concert will first be available to registered Live Natin members from 10am on 27th May, with full ticket sales starting at 10am on 28th May.
