Lightning-fast super drummer Jojo Mayer returns to Akvárium Klub! At 18 years of age, the incredibly virtuoso Mayer was already playing for the biggest figures in jazz history, from Monty Alexander to Dizzy Gillespie and Nina Simone. He moved to New York in the early 90s, making a name for himself with his improvisational party series entitled Prohibited Beatz. Mayer’s music is a mixture of various elements from jazz, drum and bass, jungle and other styles of music – listening to him live feels like you’re at an electronic music party. This fascinatingly talented musician returns to the Small Hall of Akvárium Klub with his group called Nerve on 9 April.
